Originally from Washington, DC, Meg Haworth, Ph.D. brings a deep and caring passion for the field of Transpersonal Psychology. Having healed fourteen different illnesses through complimentary care practices in her own life, she brings a depth of experience and knowledge to the work that is grounded and compelling.
Dr. Meg previously owned and operated Harmony Oaks Bed & Breakfast and Healing Retreat Center in Saluda, SC. Harmony Oaks served as a beautiful center of healing and respite for the midlands of South Carolina, attracting guests from around the country for healing retreats, live musical performances, workshops and community.
Dr. Meg received extensive training at Delphi University in McCaysville, GA where she completed her Doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology and Preventative and Complimentary Medical Therapies in June of 2004. Meg has also studied with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and The School for Natural Medicine in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Meg also holds a Bachelors degree in English with a concentration in writing from Radford University in Radford, Virginia. While in undergraduate studies, Dr. Meg worked as a crisis intervention counselor and holds two undergraduate minors in Psychology and Social Work.
Dr. Meg is a dedicated teacher, writer, speaker and practitioner of holistic healing. Her articles have been published on James Redfield's Celestine Vision web-site (December 1998 in the archives for the Synchronicity Column), AveNews Holistic World ways, the Delphi University Healing Arts Journal and The American Anthology of Poets 2004. She has spoken at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, University of South Carolina Women's Conference, Wellspring Resource Center in Columbia, SC, A Garden of Healing Expo in Irvine, CA, WKDK Radio in Newberry, SC, Triumph Over Trauma internet radio show with Moira Shepherd and various venues around the country. Meg also taught regular cooking classes at Earth Fare Whole Foods market in Columbia, SC sharing recipes from her cookbook on wheat and dairy free cooking. Dr. Meg has also taken a number of groups to swim with wild Dolphins in the Bahamas.
